WINTER CAMP 2010 Jan 8~13

DAY ONE: welcome & learning instructions

DOL: use a dictionary to look up five vocabulary words. Read, write, & Draw. Read aloud together for Fluency.

Warm-up activity.: Learn a song (Say Hello!)

Pick English names, make nametags

CLASSROOM RULES: I am talking, YOU ARE LISTENING. No eating/drinking in class, No handphones, ENGLISH TALKING ONLY. Everyone Works, Everyone Plays.

Name games: I AMHE ISSHE IS.WE ARE (actions), ZIP-ZAP: using nametags & the mystery bag, THROW THE BALL using names & a timer (they LOVE TO SEE HOW FAST THEY CAN GET)

ABCs practice, Sing ABCs, ABC+ Sounds

Classroom Scavenger Hunt

WorksheetsSee what they know

VOCABULARY: Sad, happy, sleepy, scared, excited, hungry, thirsty, shy, cold, hot, love, hate Can/cant will/wont

GAME: Learn emotions & play LEMONADE.

Have different students come to the stage and say the same line with a different emotion. (ex. Come here, cat. Happy, shy, scared, excited)

Afternoon conversation: I love.I hate.I like.I dislike…”

SNACK

Pre-reading: look at a book cover and tell me about what you see. What do you think this book is about?

Read a story.

PHONICS WAR game, listen to the sound of the letter, slap the letter before anyone else.

More name games: Name slap-tap, sheet drop.

ABC order with names, a rope & blindfolds

Line up according to ABC order @ the door. We will sing a goodbye song and then go. See you tomorrow!

DAY TWO: Shopping, food, I want/I like

DOL: use a dictionary to look up five vocabulary words. Read, write, & Draw.

Read aloud together for Fluency.

VIDEO: Grocery bag (they might be Giants)

ACTIVITY: pic/word taped to each students back. Must find his/her pair.
